Job Description

NOC Engineer L1

Competitive base + benefits +

Hybrid (2-3 days per month onsite Makati)

"Five days onsite wearing you down? Long commutes catching up with you? If you have a year of network support experience and want greater flexibility, structured progression, and broader technical exposure than a traditional onsite environment offers, this role is built for engineers who are ready to grow without sacrificing life outside of work.

You sit at the centre of operations, working closely with Level 2 NOC Engineers, Incident Managers and Operations leadership across your allocated POD. Your focus is clear. Alert response. Initial triage. Accurate escalation. All delivered with professionalism, clarity, and a strong customer mindset.

If you enjoy structured technical problem solving, take pride in keeping client environments running within SLA, and want a team that will invest in your development, this is a role where your potential will be genuinely valued.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Level 1 NOC Engineer, you will be the first point of contact for managed network events across a defined client portfolio, monitoring live environments, responding to alerts, and managing tickets through to resolution or escalation. You will work within a structured POD alongside Level 2 engineers and Incident Managers, with clear runbooks, strong operational support, and plenty of opportunity to build technical depth quickly. The role operates on a rotating 24x7 shift pattern.

  • Monitor managed network devices, services and alerts using NOC tooling, identifying and flagging false alerts or monitoring gaps to improve operational visibility
  • Respond to incidents, outages and alerts within defined SLAs, maintaining ownership of assigned tickets through to resolution or structured escalation
  • Log, prioritise, update and manage support tickets within the ITSM platform following documented runbooks and operational procedures
  • Perform initial troubleshooting and apply first level resolutions across supported platforms including Cisco, Fortinet and Meraki
  • Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to progress incident resolution, with escalation to Level 2 where required
  • Perform structured shift handovers, ensuring continuity of monitoring and clear awareness of open incidents

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for a technically strong network engineer who combines depth of expertise with calm execution and strong communication skills:

The Essentials

  • At least 2 years' hands-on experience in a NOC or network operations role, supporting production network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Experience supporting external customers in a managed services provider (MSP) or service provider environment under SLA.
  • A working understanding of core networking concepts including TCP/IP, routing and switching, with hands-on exposure to at least one of BGP, EIGRP, MPLS or RADIUS.
  • Hands-on exposure to enterprise network platforms such as Cisco, Fortinet or Meraki, in a production environment.
  • Strong written and verbal English, able to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work a rotating 24×7 shift pattern including nights, weekends and public holidays.

Bonus Points

  • CCNA / CCST / Fortinet (FCA/FCF) / ITIL Foundation, or equivalent certification
  • Experience with ITSM tools and ITIL-based support processes
  • Familiarity with SD-WAN technologies
