Position Accountability Statement
The Network Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and support of Maxicare network infrastructure. Providing network support by installing, trouble-shooting, maintaining computer network connectivity and supporting end users. The post holder will work in an environment of continuous change while minimizing disruption to Maxicare network users.
Broad Responsibility Highlights
- End-to-end trouble isolation and repair on physical and logical layer services
- Strong switch, router, modem knowledge and ability to setup, configure the devices upgrade firmware
- Accomplished assigned daily tasks, including support and troubleshooting, and project contribution.
- Planning, designing, organizing and managing a highly complex wide area network
- Diagnosing and resolving network problems, performing routine maintenance, and upgrading systems to optimize performance and capacity.
- Identify and create strategic vision to support a 99.999% available network architecture, high network redundancy, perfect network resiliency, and network integrity
- Cooperate with network lead to optimize network configuration, network management and network monitoring of assets.
- Ensure legacy systems and new systems meet respective technical (bandwidth, throughput, availability, quality) requirements.
- Troubleshoot and mitigate adverse impact due to network issues
- Working knowledge of Palo Alto Networks firewalls, Fortinet, Meraki, Telephony systems (PABX), VoIP, Cisco switching and routing equipment, and cloud networking is a plus
- Maintaining network system documentation
- Developing and implementing network security procedures; and Performing related duties as required.
Desired Skills And Competencies
- Ability to work well with other groups to plan, design, and implement work
- A minimum of 3-5 years experience performing routing and switching
- 3+ years of tooling and automation development supporting zero touch and power-on auto provisioning
- Strong understanding of infrastructure protocols (OSPF, Static and dynamic ), IP addressing and application protocols (HTTP/S, LDAP, SNMP)
- Versed in a variety of hardware and software manufacturers, and a high degree of comfort and experience in mixed vendor environments Cisco, HP, Juniper, developing and deploying solutions on open source technology
- Expert level knowledge in all the support tools required to support such environments, dig, host, nslookup, tcpdump, wireshark
Qualifications And Guidelines
Education : Graduate of BS ECE or BS IT, or any related courses
Cisco Certified Network Associate
Experience : 3-5 Years experience in Network Infrastructure.
Knowledge Wireless networks, Cisco, routing and switching,
Firewall and network security
