Lead Data Engineer

As Senior Data Engineer & Data Operations Lead, you'll play a critical role in building and operating the data foundations that enable smarter decisions across PMI Japan, one of our largest markets.

Your "day to day"

As a Hands-on Technical Leader, You Will Design, Build, And Operate Scalable Cloud-based Data Solutions While Ensuring Reliability, Security, And Operational Excellence. You Will

Lead the development and support of data pipelines, analytical models, and cloud data platforms.

Own production operations, monitoring, incident management, performance optimization, and service reliability.

Translate business requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable data solutions.

Establish engineering standards across design, coding, testing, deployment, and documentation.

Drive data quality, governance, metadata management, lineage, and access controls.

Improve platform resilience, automation, monitoring, and cost efficiency.

Lead technical delivery and provide guidance to internal, contracted, and cross-functional engineering teams.

Partner with business stakeholders, data governance, security, architecture, and global technology teams.

Who we're looking for

You Have

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

7+ years of experience in data engineering, cloud data platforms, or data infrastructure.

Proven experience leading technical delivery, engineering teams, or production data operations.

Strong hands-on expertise in Snowflake, AWS, ETL/ELT technologies, Git, and CI/CD.

Advanced SQL and Python skills.

Experience building and supporting production-grade data pipelines and platforms.

Strong knowledge of data modeling, data quality frameworks, and cloud data warehouse optimization.

Experience managing production incidents, root cause analysis, and operational excellence practices.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Professional proficiency in English. Japanese language skills are a plus.

Nice To Have

Experience with dbt, Airflow, AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, or Terraform.

Knowledge of ServiceNow, Jira, or similar platforms.

Experience with business continuity and disaster recovery activities.

Exposure to AI or GenAI solutions applied to data engineering and operations.

Work Schedule and Location

• Generally, Mondays to Fridays, on a hybrid work arrangement
• Based in 8 Rockwell, Makati Head Office
