The client is a well‑established investment and financial services group operating across multiple markets. They manage a broad and sophisticated portfolio, with a strong focus on governance, reporting excellence, and long‑term value creation.
Job Description
- Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries, bank reconciliations, and investment-related general ledger reconciliations.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing US GAAP investment disclosures and MD&A for regulatory filings.
- Support preparation and review of statutory investment schedules.
- Analyze complex transactions to determine appropriate accounting treatment.
- Maintain and document processes and controls aligned with SOX requirements.
- Manage internal and external audit queries and deliverables.
- Support treasury activities as needed.
- Prepare materials for management and board committee meetings.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and ad hoc projects.
- Holds a recognized accounting qualification (CA, ACA, CPA or equivalent) with at least 3 years post‑qualification experience.
- Progress toward CFA and interest in investments is preferred.
- Experience in investment accounting or Big 4 audit/advisory is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP; familiarity with statutory reporting is preferred.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with general ledger systems is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of fixed income instruments and exposure to other asset classes.
- Highly analytical, organized, and able to manage shifting priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
