Job Description

Strategic Leadership

Define and execute the enterprise-wide data science roadmap, aligned with the banks Data & AI strategy.
Drive AI/ML innovation in areas such as credit scoring, fraud analytics, marketing personalization, risk modeling, and operational optimization.
Champion a data-driven culture across the bank, partnering with senior executives to identify analytics opportunities.

Team & Capability Building

Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, ML engineers, and quantitative analysts.
Establish best practices in model development, feature engineering, experimentation, and model deployment.
Foster continuous learning and adoption of emerging technologies (LLMs, generative AI, real-time models, MLOps).

Model Development & Delivery

Oversee development, validation, deployment, and monitoring of high-impact ML models.
Ensure models meet regulatory requirements (BSP guidelines), risk controls, and explainability standards.
Collaborate with Data Engineering and MLOps teams to operationalize models efficiently and reliably.

The Successful Applicant

Education & Experience

Bachelors degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or quantitative roles, with at least 5 years in leadership positions.
Proven experience in banking, fintech, or financial services is highly preferred.

Technical Expertise

Strong proficiency in machine learning, statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and optimization.
Expertise in Python, SQL, big data environments (Spark, Hadoop), and ML platforms (SageMaker, Databricks, Vertex AI, etc.).
Experience with modern MLOps tools and practices.
Familiarity with Generative AI, LLMs, and advanced NLP frameworks is a plus.
