What Youll Do

As a Financial Controller, you will be entrusted with overseeing the full spectrum of accounting operations while ensuring unwavering compliance with local regulatory standards. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating closely with various departments to deliver precise financial reporting that underpins strategic decision-making.

• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes by ensuring all journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather essential data, resolve discrepancies, and finalise timely financial reports in line with accounting standards.
• Prepare and review comprehensive financial statements, reports, and reconciliations while maintaining strict adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Supervise core accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Payroll, and General Ledger (GL) to ensure prompt recording of transactions.
• Implement effective internal controls to safeguard assets, enhance accuracy, and maintain compliance with both internal policies and government regulations.
• Identify process improvements across accounting operations to drive greater efficiency and support strategic business objectives.
• Design, implement, and monitor internal control systems that prevent fraud or misstatements while conducting periodic reviews of procedures for enhancement.
• Oversee the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts; track performance against targets; analyse variances; recommend corrective actions; and support cost-saving initiatives.
• Ensure full compliance with Philippine tax laws (VAT, income tax, withholding tax) as well as PEZA requirements for registered enterprises through accurate filings and documentation.
• Liaise with external auditors during annual audits by preparing schedules, addressing queries promptly, analysing findings, implementing corrective actions, and tracking resolution progress.
  
  

What You Bring

To excel as a Financial Controller, you will bring substantial experience gained from senior finance positions—ideally within regulated environments such as IT or PEZA-registered companies. Your background should reflect deep familiarity with Philippine statutory requirements alongside practical expertise in managing complex audits involving both internal teams and external authorities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Certified Public Accountant qualification
• Experience in public accounting or within IT/PEZA-registered industries
• Comprehensive knowledge of BIR regulations—including VAT, income tax, withholding tax—and hands-on experience managing PEZA compliance are vital.
• Ability to interact effectively with external examiners such as BIR officials or PEZA representatives
• Proficiency in QuickBooks is essential
• Demonstrated analytical skills combined with meticulous attention to detail
• A responsible approach marked by trustworthiness, confidentiality, integrity—and the ability to handle sensitive information—is expected at all times.
• Proven capability in coaching or managing teams helps build a culture centred on accountability and continuous improvement within finance operations.
