About The Role

The Markets and Treasury Financial Control team (MTFC) is critical to making this happen and is responsible for maintaining a robust control environment whilst producing financial reporting and analysis for the Markets and Treasury divisions. MTFC ensures the business is well managed from a financial and regulatory standpoint through the application of disciplined end-to-end trial balance control processes including but not limited to Balance Sheet (BS) & Profit/Loss (P&L) recognition and substantiation, through new trades review, P&L explain/attribution of all market and model inputs, price testing of trader marked inputs, defined valuation adjustments, Marketdata validation, analytical review and review of regulatory data, performance attribution, and FX/cash exposures management.

The Financial Control Manager, Valuation, XVA, and Structured Solutions is a people leader and subject matter expert who will be responsible for leading the Rates and Curves Control and Structured Products for Global Markets in Manila within Markets and Treasury Finance. You will be supporting the team to deliver timely and accurate Marketdata and financial information and ensure that all statutory and regulatory reporting obligations across the Business Units are adequately met.

The role will be working together with Quants, Marketdata Management, Finance, Business, and non-Business stakeholders as identified to ensure financial integrity is maintained and no issues identified.

The successful candidate will also be nurturing a learning and initiative-taking environment for staff. Continuously review end-to-end production and assess if further evolution and streamlining of processes are needed. The incumbent will be participating in strategic initiatives from a Markets and Treasury perspective and wider bank initiatives.

What will your day look like?

The role also entails the following responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Daily Market Data Validation
  • Contributor to Valuation Governance
  • Daily Confirmation of Position & PnL
  • Exception Reporting (start of day controls) including unusual deals/movements
  • Accurately identify Sales Splits & Recognition
  • Systems Health Check (system feeds and data complete)
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Stakeholder relationship/partnering
  • Daily Journals / FOBO Adjustments
  • Monthly Journals / Financial Reporting
  • Valuation adjustments & Overlays
  • Booking Models
  • Reconciliations / Controls
  • Intra/Inter Group eliminations
  • Statutory and regulatory accounting
  • Suspense and settlement balances/adjustments
  • End to End Financial Integrity of Product process set


What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Markets product knowledge with extensive years of professional experience in Finance roles
  • Exceptional people management and people skills and working with onshore and third-party teams (working in a matrix).
  • Demonstrated understanding of IFRS and PeopleSoft, Strong ability to multi-task effectively and drive performance in an extraordinarily complex environment.
  • Strong business acumen coupled with financial prudence and customer focus.
  • Statutory and regulatory accounting; CA or CPA
