Overall Responsibilities

To manage financial accounting processes for IWG’s global operations. This includes general ledger, intercompany, lease accounting, month-end close, and statutory reporting, ensuring compliance with IFRS and internal control standards. The role oversees a team of accounting professionals and partners with global finance stakeholders to deliver high-quality, timely, and compliant financial outputs.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting

  • Manage, ensure processes for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, are accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Oversee preparation, posting, and review of general ledger entries including accruals, prepayments, and provisions.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and support preparation of financial statements for group and statutory reporting.


Intercompany Accounting

  • Manage global intercompany accounting processes, ensuring proper matching, reconciliation, and elimination of intercompany balances in consolidation.
  • Oversee resolution of intercompany mismatches and disputes across entities.
  • Ensure timely processing and settlement of intercompany recharges in compliance with transfer pricing policies.


Lease Accounting (IFRS 16, US GAAP)

  • Lead the accounting and reporting of leases under IFRS 16, US GAAP, including recognition of ROU assets and lease liabilities.
  • Ensure accuracy of lease entries and alignment between lease contracts, subleases, and accounting treatment.
  • Partner with real estate and legal teams to ensure correct financial treatment of complex lease structures and modifications.


Balance Sheet Management & Internal Controls

  • Own balance sheet integrity, ensuring timely completion of reconciliations and resolution of reconciling items.
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls in compliance with global finance policies and audit requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in core accounting processes.


Team Leadership & Operations Oversight

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals handling RTR, intercompany, and lease accounting.
  • Set performance goals, monitor KPIs, and drive accountability across workstreams.
  • Promote process improvement and automation through best practices, lean initiatives, and technology.


Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Serve as a key finance partner to local and regional finance teams, tax, audit, and global controllership.
  • Collaborate closely with FP&A, Treasury, and Legal on cross-functional financial matters.
  • Coordinate with externalauditors and support audits for both group and statutory purposes.


Systems & Transformation

  • Ensure effective use of financial various systems to streamline accounting processes.
  • Support and lead finance transformation initiatives including migrations, automation, and system enhancements.


Position Requirements

  • Experience of financial accounting and reporting in a blue-chip multinational PLC environment.
  • Experience of landlord contract management and accounting within a multinational, shared service environment.
  • Experience of managing professional teams in a multinational, shared services environment.
  • Experience of building strong relationships with peers and Finance Leaders.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in Finance and Accounting
  • At least 8 years in a management or supervisory role
