Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Performs case underwriting tasks (medical and risk profile evaluation) that supports profitable growth, retention and client objectives across life insurance product lines;
  • Performs enrollment and eligibility valuation tasks;
  • Adheres to guidelines in the use of underwriting authority related but not limited to enrollment, eligibility evaluation, risk acceptance, risk rating and reinsurance placement.
  • Requests for immediate supervisor’s assistance in the underwriting, direction, risk selection and resolution of cases beyond own authority limit and capacity.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to resolve and identify improvements in underwriting and onboarding of new business;
  • Provide underwriting support in the product development, pricing, reinsurance and plan administration initiatives;
  • Ensures timely update and monitoring of underwriting systems like MID;
  • Secures relevant mentoring, training and self-development opportunities;
  • Follow cost controls, expense management, and standards of the department;
  • Ensures departmental and individual objectives are met.

Qualifications (Who are we looking for?)

  • Bachelor’s degree in any business-related course or medical-related course.
  • At least 2-3 years combined experience in the life insurance industry, preferably in roles related to underwriting and reinsurance across all product lines.
  • With experience in developing and managing relationships with different key stakeholders.
  • Possess good analytical skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft, Google workspace or any similar purpose applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
