Data Scientist

Position Accountability Statement

The primary duties of this role is to leverage data to make informed business decisions and play a pivotal role in shaping strategic data initiatives across the organization. This role will require utilization of statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to analyze complex datasets, build predictive models, create automation and process optimization while unlocking value through tailored and innovative solutions for key business challenges. The data scientist will focus on the group’s key strategic initiatives such as site selection, capacity optimization, customer interactions, and utilization behavior in alignment with industry trends.

Specific Areas Of Accountability

• BI Strategy Development: Develops and implements business intelligence strategies aligned with organizational goals and priorities.
• Advanced Analytics: Drives the adoption of advanced analytics techniques, such as predictive modeling, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, to uncover trends and opportunities. Documents standard procedures through a modelling playbook for the organization.
• Data Analytics: Conduct exploratory data analysis to discover data insights, uncover trends and patterns in order to accurately forecast business growths and declines and spot potential opportunities for quick wins.
• Data Profiling: Improve current segmentations and develop innovative solutions to target key groups, locations, consumers depending on strategic intent.
• Modelling Tool Selection and Implementation: Evaluates and selects appropriate AI and modelling tools and technologies and oversees their implementation and integration with existing systems in coordination with IT.
• Data Visualization: Designs and develops intuitive data visualizations and interactive dashboards to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.
• Performance Monitoring: Designs and conducts A/B testing in production and experimentation to enhance business outcomes. Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the effectiveness of solutions and initiatives.
• Business Partner Engagement: Collaborates with business units and stakeholders to understand their analytical needs and deliver innovative solutions that drive business value.
• Collaboration and Communication: Provides leadership, training, and direction to the organization fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  
  

• Knowledge of BI tools, such as Tableau and Microsoft Power BI
• Knowledge of programming languages, such as Python, R, or SQL
• Expertise in conducting statistical analysis, data modelling, AI, analysis, insighting

• Degrees in data science, business analytics, or related fields.
• Proven experience in data management and analytics.

• Familiarity with Project Management Tools and Agile Development methodologies is a plus
