Job Description: Change Management & Communication Manager (Individual Contributor)

Position Overview

The Change Management & Communications Manager is accountable for driving successful adoption of finance transformation initiatives by delivering structured change impact assessments, targeted communications, and adoption strategies. The role ensures that impacts to people, process, technology, controls, and service delivery are clearly assessed, communicated, and effectively embedded into Finance Services operations.

This is a hands-on execution role, partnering with Finance Operations, Process Governance, IT, Automation, and Business Stakeholders to translate change impacts into actionable plans that enable readiness, minimize disruption, and sustain benefits.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Change Impact Assessment & Readiness (Core Accountability)
  • Lead end-to-end Change Impact Assessments (CIA) for all finance initiatives, including:
    • Process redesign and standardization
    • ERP / system implementations (e.g., Dynamics 365, workflow tools)
    • Automation, controls, and policy changes
  • Identify and document impacts across:
    • People (roles, skills, behaviors, capacity)
    • Process (activities, handoffs, SLAs, controls)
    • Technology (systems, data, reports, automation)
    • Governance & Controls (approval matrices, compliance, audit)
    • Service Delivery (volume, cycle time, customer experience)
  • Assess change magnitude, complexity, and risk by stakeholder group
  • Perform change readiness assessments and define mitigation actions
  • Maintain a structured Change Impact Register with clear ownership and status
  • Change Strategy & Adoption Planning
  • Translate change impacts into practical adoption strategies and phased rollout plans
  • Define reinforcement mechanisms to ensure changes are embedded into BAU
  • Partner with Finance leaders to align change plans with operational realities
  • Track and report adoption and readiness metrics
  • Communications Management
  • Develop impact-based communication plans tailored by audience and severity of change
  • Convert CIA outputs into:
    • Targeted messaging
    • FAQs
    • “What’s changing / What’s not” summaries
    • Role-specific communications
  • Create executive-ready materials explaining change impacts and risk areas
  • Ensure consistent, timely, and transparent communications across Finance Services
  • Training & Enablement Alignment
  • Work with Process Owners and Trainers to ensure training content addresses:
    • Identified change impacts
    • New roles, responsibilities, and controls
  • Support go-live and post-go-live phases with Hypercare communications
  • Validate that users are equipped to adopt new ways of working
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Risk Mitigation
  • Act as the change partner for Finance Transformation, OpEx, and IT initiatives
  • Facilitate impact assessment workshops and stakeholder interviews
  • Proactively identify resistance and operational risks and implement mitigation plans
  • Support leadership with change narratives and decision inputs
  • Governance, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Establish and maintain standard CIA templates, tools, and methodologies
  • Ensure alignment of change impacts with finance governance and controls
  • Produce change impact dashboards and executive summaries
  • Capture lessons learned and continuously improve change assessment practices

Change Impact Assessment - Key Deliverables

The role is explicitly accountable for producing and maintaining the following:

  • Change Impact Assessment (CIA) Document
  • Stakeholder Impact Matrix
  • Change Impact Register / Log
  • Readiness & Risk Assessment
  • Impact-Based Communication Plan
  • Training & Enablement Gap Assessment
  • Post-Go-Live Adoption & Impact Review


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Communications, or related field


Experience

  • 5-7 years of experience in change management and communications
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience delivering change impact assessments for:
    • Finance transformation
    • ERP or finance system implementations
    • Process optimization or operating model changes
  • Experience in Finance Services, Finance Shared Services, Banking, or Professional Services environments
  • Experience working in global, matrix organizations

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of finance processes (P2P, O2C, R2R, FP&A)
  • Ability to translate CIA outputs into practical action plans
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly structured, analytical, and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable operating independently with minimal supervision

  • Change impacts identified early and mitigated effectively
  • High adoption and sustained use of new processes and systems
  • Reduced post-go-live issues and escalations
  • Positive feedback from Finance leaders and stakeholders
  • Consistent use of CIA framework across Finance Services


Working conditions

  • Standard 40-hour work week; flexibility required for project schedules.
  • May require occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work during system releases or critical support windows.
  • Hybrid or onsite schedule depending on company policy.
