Job Summary
The IT Business Analyst is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and validating business and system requirements that support digital services and enterprise technology solutions. This role bridges business needs and technical implementation by translating operational requirements into clear functional and non-functional specifications.
The Business Analyst works closely with business stakeholders, Agile teams, product owners, and vendors to ensure solutions are aligned with organizational objectives, compliant with governance standards, and deliver measurable business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Elicitation & Analysis
Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and discovery sessions to gather business and system requirements.
Analyze current processes and identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation or optimization.
Translate business needs into detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
Create user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and data models to support Agile delivery.
Ensure requirements are clear, testable, traceable, and aligned with business priorities.
- Documentation & Solution Design Support
Prepare Business Requirements Documents (BRD), Functional Specifications (FSD), and other solution artifacts.
Develop process maps, workflow diagrams, use cases, and interface specifications.
Support solution design discussions with IT teams, ensuring feasibility and alignment with enterprise architecture.
Maintain requirements traceability matrix (RTM) across project lifecycle.
Ensure documentation complies with IT governance and regulatory standards.
- Stakeholder & Integration Management
Act as the liaison between business units, IT teams, and external vendors.
Collaborate with Product Owners and Project Managers to refine backlog items and prioritize features.
Facilitate requirement clarification during sprint planning and development cycles.
Validate delivered features against agreed requirements and business objectives.
Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
- Testing & Validation Support
Develop and review test scenarios and user acceptance test (UAT) cases.
Support UAT execution and coordinate defect tracking and resolution.
Validate that implemented solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.
Assist in change management activities, including training materials and user guides.
- Continuous Improvement & Governance
Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend best practices.
Contribute to standardization of business analysis templates and methodologies.
Support post-implementation reviews and measure solution effectiveness against KPIs.
Promote data-driven decision-making and documentation discipline within project teams.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
3–5+ years of experience in Business Analysis within digital services or enterprise IT environments.
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and SDLC practices.
Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, process documentation, and system requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience with tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Visio, or similar documentation tools.
Understanding of APIs, integrations, data flows, and enterprise systems.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience in digital transformation, cloud-based platforms, and enterprise integrations.
Familiarity with IT governance, compliance, and regulatory environments.
Experience supporting UAT, change management, and training activities.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferably with experience in HMO, insurance, or medical industry operations, including exposure to claims processing, benefits configuration, regulatory compliance, and healthcare workflows to ensure accurate translation of business requirements within a regulated healthcare environment.
Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), PMI-PBA, or equivalent certification.
Knowledge of ITIL framework and IT service management (ITSM).
