Job Description

Job Summary:


The ESG Associate will support the implementation of Vena Group’s ESG policy and management systems in the Philippines, helping ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and alignment with Group ESG expectations and international frameworks. The role sits under the Business Development – Project Development team and collaborates closely with Engineering, Construction, Land Acquisition, HR, O&M, and Legal teams to embed ESG across renewable energy projects and corporate operations.


Key Responsibilities:


ESG Implementation Support

  • Assist in applying the Group’s ESG framework and roadmap across projects in the Philippines.
  • Support the integration of ESG considerations into project development, construction, and operations.
  • Help promote ESG awareness and compliance among internal teams and contractors.


Environmental & Social Performance

  • Support adherence to Vena Group’s ESG policies and relevant international frameworks such as IFC Performance Standards and the Equator Principles.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and consultants on ESIAs, stakeholder engagement activities, grievance mechanisms, and social safeguards documentation.
  • Help monitor ESG-related risks and escalate issues that may impact permitting, financing, or project timelines.


Project Lifecycle Support (Solar, Wind & BESS)

  • Provide ESG support during early-stage development through construction and operations.
  • Assist in integrating ESG risk identification and mitigation into project planning.
  • Review inputs from consultants and help ensure alignment with applicable standards.


Governance, Reporting & Investor Relations

  • Assist in maintaining project-level ESG policies, standards, KPIs, and reporting systems.
  • Support ESG reporting for investors, lenders, regulators, and rating agencies.
  • Help compile data and contribute to transparent ESG disclosures.


Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor relevant ESG trends and regulatory updates and share insights with the team.
  • Support benchmarking of project ESG performance against global standards and peer companies.
  • Identify and recommend areas for improvement in ESG practices and processes.


Prerequisites:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Social Science, Engineering, or related field (Basic to Advanced).
  • Familiarity with ESG standards (IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, ISO 14001 / ISO 45001).
  • Training in stakeholder engagement or social safeguards frameworks.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in ESG, Environmental & Social (E&S) management, or sustainability roles.
  • Exposure to applying IFC Performance Standards and/or Equator Principles.
  • Experience supporting renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS).
  • Knowledge of international ESG frameworks (IFC PS, EP, OECD Guidelines, UNGP).
  • Ability to support ESG risk assessment, ESIA coordination, and social safeguards management.
  • Experience with ESG reporting (GRI, lender reporting formats) and KPI support.
  • Understanding of health, safety, environment (HSE) and community impact processes.
  • Stakeholder engagement and clear communication.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and drive compliance follow-through.
  • Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • Documentation discipline and time management across multiple projects.
