About The Role

The purpose of this role is to:

• Work closely with the senior architect and various architecture teams to assist with IT and business strategies
• Play a role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the overall application architecture and technical solutions documentation including leading solution and concept designs for initiatives and significant BAU changes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help build and oversee application changes, working with Business, Technology, Development, and Security stakeholders with their requirements and technical guidance
• Play a role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the overall application architecture and technical solutions documentation
• Actively contribute with hands-on configuration and administration tasks, especially for CRM, Automation, Core Broking and Claims platforms
• Be an advocate and lead for identified architectural and best practice compliance for documentation and maintenance of quality and standards, assisting with incident management and resolution and alignment of key systems to standards
  
  

You will possess a diverse set of skills and solid understanding of Application Architecture, Web Development, Networks and Infrastructure, Platform Administration and Configuration, Monitoring and Incident Management, as well as Automation. Additionally, you will bring hands-on enterprise experience with tools and technologies that support large-scale business operations, ensuring robust and efficient solutions for core broking and automation platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior architects and cross-functional teams to align application architecture with IT and business strategies.
• Design, implement, and maintain application architecture and technical solution documentation for initiatives and significant BAU changes.
• Provide technical guidance to Business, Technology, Development, and Security teams to ensure alignment with architectural standards and business requirements.
• Actively contribute to the configuration, administration, and optimisation of core platforms, including CRM, Automation, Core Broking, and Claims systems.
• Identify opportunities for application enhancements and including assisting the development of working prototypes when required.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with architectural standards and quality benchmarks.
• Assist in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new tools and technologies to support business needs at scale.
• Stay current with emerging trends and technologies to ensure the organisation remains at the forefront of innovation.
• Support project planning and contribute to project management decisions to ensure successful delivery of application-related initiatives.
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years’ experience as an Application Architect or technical lead role, with a focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining application architecture and technical solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; or job experience to a similar level of education.
• Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and autonomously, while managing competing priorities.
• Strong collaborative team spirit with the ability to work across diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language.
• Solid understanding of application architecture, web development, platform administration, configuration, monitoring, and incident management.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-level applications, including CRM, Automation, Core Broking, and Claims platforms highly-desired.
• Familiarity with enterprise-scale systems and integration, including API design and management.
  
  

Desirable Skills And Experience

• Development experience with languages such as .Net, Java, or front-end libraries.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, including services like Azure DevOps and Azure App Services.
• Knowledge of robotic automation tools and frameworks, such as UI Path, Power Automate.
• Working knowledge of databases such as MS-SQL, Oracle, and DB2.
• Experience in the finance or insurance industry is highly regarded.
• Familiarity with enterprise monitoring and reporting tools.
