THE ROLE
The Technical Consultant is a key member of the Level 2 (L2) support team, specializing in Temenos Data Hub (TDH) and Analytics/Reporting. This role focuses on resolving complex incidents beyond Level 1 Service desk (L1) capabilities, ensuring thorough diagnosis, documentation, and escalation where required. The consultant will be responsible for validating reconciliation processes, analyzing data inconsistencies, troubleshooting incidents, and ensuring system stability in mission-critical banking environments.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialized L2 support for SaaS clients using Temenos Transact, with a primary focus on Temenos Data Hub (TDH)
Analyze incidents escalated from L1, reproduce issues, and perform functional investigations to identify root causes.
Analyze and resolve L2 incidents; escalate to Level 3 (L3) with clear root cause analysis when necessary.
Validate daily reconciliation reports from TDH, investigate mismatches, and apply corrective actions at Transact/TDH level.
Engage with clients and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot, perform RCA, and propose solutions or workarounds.
Deliver timely workarounds, configuration corrections, or functional solutions, minimizing client impact while awaiting permanent fixes.
Guide and mentor L1 consultants, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous service improvement.
Collaborate with L3 consultants and problem management teams to escalate unresolved issues with clear, actionable analysis.
Document solutions, workarounds, and lessons learned, contributing to the knowledge base and enabling faster resolution of recurring issues.
Support functional testing and validation of fixes or enhancements before deployment into client environments.
Engage with clients on functional problem management discussions, ensuring transparency and building confidence in service delivery.
Contribute to BAU operational stability by identifying patterns of recurring incidents and recommending process or product improvements.
Skills & Experience
Essential Requirements
Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience with proven expertise in Temenos Reporting and Analytics applications, especially in Temenos Data Hub
Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of TDH architecture, data models, and reconciliation processes. Proficiency in Oracle/DB2/SQL Server databases and performance troubleshooting.
Incident Analysis: Demonstrated ability to perform functional root cause analysis, reproduce issues, and propose effective solutions or workarounds.
Run Operations: Hands-on experience with ETL tools, SQL, stored procedures, and query optimization, with clear understanding of incident, problem, and change management processes.
Technical Familiarity:
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration, deployment, and management of TDH components.
Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker.
Familiarity with cloud-native architecture, including microservices and scalable data platforms.
Experience working with data lakes, Lakehouses, and building scalable ETL pipelines on cloud infrastructure.
Familiarity with Unix/Linux scripting and job scheduling tools (Autosys, Control-M, Cron).
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to clearly document issues, solutions, and provide updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
Methodology: Familiarity with Temenos Implementation Methodology and its application in BAU operations.
Other Competencies
Ability to mentor and guide L1 consultants, strengthening the frontline support capability.
Strong client-facing skills, capable of building trust during incident handling and resolution.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills, ensuring accuracy in analysis and escalation.
Awareness of industry practices, regulatory requirements, and operational risks in banking environments.
