Business Development Head

Position Summary

Bureau Veritas Philippines is seeking a highly driven and strategic Business Development Head – Renewables, Energy & Industrial Projects to lead commercial growth across the renewable energy, power generation, oil & gas, industrial infrastructure, and energy transition sectors.

The successful candidate will possess a strong technical and commercial background in solar farm projects, wind energy, battery energy storage systems (BESS), oil & gas, conventional power plants, transmission and distribution, and industrial infrastructure developments. The role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing key client relationships, driving revenue growth, and positioning Bureau Veritas as a preferred partner for Testing, Inspection, Certification (TIC), Technical Advisory, Owners Engineering, HSE, and Project Management services.

This position requires a strong network within developers, EPC contractors, investors, utility companies, government agencies, and major industrial clients operating in the Philippines and Southeast Asia.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Market Growth

• Develop and execute strategic business development plans aligned with Bureau Veritas Philippines growth objectives.
• Identify and secure new opportunities within renewable energy, conventional power, oil & gas, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.
• Generate sustainable revenue growth through strategic account management and business expansion initiatives.
• Develop market penetration strategies for emerging sectors including:
  • Solar PV
  • Wind Energy
  • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
  • Green Hydrogen
  • Energy Transition Projects
  • Carbon Reduction Programs
• Lead contract negotiations and commercial discussions with key stakeholders and clients.

Client Relationship Management

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with:
  • Renewable energy developers
  • Independent Power Producers (IPPs)
  • EPC Contractors
  • Utility companies
  • Oil & Gas Operators
  • Government agencies
  • Investors and Financial Institutions
• Serve as a trusted advisor for project certification, quality assurance, inspection, and technical compliance services.
• Represent Bureau Veritas in industry forums, conferences, technical seminars, and business networking events.

Tendering & Proposal Management

• Lead preparation of commercial proposals, bids, tenders, and framework agreements.
• Coordinate with operational and technical teams to develop competitive technical-commercial solutions.
• Review project requirements and align Bureau Veritas services with client expectations and regulatory standards.
• Manage contract closure and project handover to operations teams.

Strategic Partnerships & Market Intelligence

• Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and investment activities within the energy and infrastructure sectors.
• Develop strategic alliances with industry partners, EPC contractors, consultants, and technology providers.
• Identify opportunities for cross-selling Bureau Veritas services across different business lines.
• Build long-term pipelines for major projects and recurring service contracts.

Leadership & Commercial Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Business Development team.
• Establish sales targets, KPIs, forecasting, and pipeline management processes.
• Monitor business performance and ensure achievement of revenue and profitability targets.
• Collaborate closely with operations, technical experts, and regional leadership teams to support business objectives.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Industrial, Energy Engineering) or related field.
• MBA or Masters Degree is highly preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 12-15 years of progressive experience in business development, commercial management, sales leadership, or project development within:
