Job Description

A Professional Medical Representative (PMR) is a crucial link between pharmaceutical companies and healthcare professionals. The primary role of the PMR is to promote and sell their company’s products, which include but are not limited to pharmaceutical drugs and medical equipment. They must understand complex medical terminology and be able to articulate the benefits of each product effectively to healthcare providers. PMRs play a vital role in ensuring that products reach the right audience who would benefit from them and must always stay informed about the latest industry developments and pharmaceutical research. This role also requires exceptional communication skills, the ability to build strong relationships, and a thorough knowledge of the medicines they promote to effectively drive sales and ensure client satisfaction.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company targets.
  • Organize appointments and meetings with community and hospital-based healthcare staff.
  • Demonstrate and present pharmaceutical products to healthcare professionals.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with doctors and medical staff.
  • Conduct market research and stay up-to-date with new drugs and treatments.
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets set by the management team.
  • Prepare and present reports on market potential, competitor analysis, and sales results.
  • Attend and host conferences and educational patient seminars to promote products.
  • Handle client queries efficiently, providing necessary product information and usage details.
  • Coordinate with the medical and marketing teams to drive promotional campaigns.
  • Ensure compliance with industry laws and regulations during all sales activities.
  • Provide timely feedback or escalate customer issues to appropriate departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in pharmaceutical, medical, or life sciences field.
  • Proven experience as a Medical Representative or in other sales roles.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and pharmaceutical products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear product explanations.
  • Strong negotiating and sales skills to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Proficiency in using various software and CRM systems is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evening or weekend meetings.
