About the Role

 

As an Associate Director, Institutional Non-Financial Risk (NFR), you will act as a trusted advisor to Philippines business leaders. You will support sustainable growth by ensuring that non-financial risks across Markets, Transaction Banking, Corporate Finance, and Coverage are identified, assessed, managed, and reported within risk appetite. You will drive strong risk governance and foster a proactive risk culture that supports effective decision-making, regulatory compliance, and positive customer and business outcomes.

 

You will ensure that local and emerging regulatory requirements are understood, translated, and embedded into business processes and control frameworks in a timely and practical manner. In addition, you will support the delivery and implementation of the PACT program, ANZs group-wide initiative to strengthen non-financial risk capabilities and processes.

What will your day look like?

 

  • Act as the trusted advisor to Philippines business leaders on non-financial risk matters, enabling strategic decision-making and sustainable growth within appetite
  • Provide constructive challenge, insight and oversight on the country risk profile, key risk themes, control effectiveness and risk in change across Markets, Transaction Banking, Corporate Finance and Coverage.
  • Build strong relationships across business leadership, 2LOD and other control partners to ensure aligned, practical and effective risk management outcomes across jurisdictions.
  • Play a lead role in ensuring adherence to the non-financial risk framework in country, including governance forums, reporting, escalation and decision-making processes.
  • Ensure material non-financial risks are identified, assessed, managed, monitored and reported within appetite, with clear ownership, strong transparency and timely escalation of issues.
  • Drive uplift in controls, tools, data and processes to strengthen the control environment and improve the maturity and consistency of risk management practices across markets.
  • Support a regulator-ready environment through strong governance, quality documentation and effective issue management.
  • Support the Philippines regulatory change agenda proactively, ensuring emerging requirements are understood early, translated into practical actions and embedded effectively into business and control frameworks.
  • Support the delivery and the embedding of the PACT program in country, ensuring the group-wide uplift in non-financial risk capability and processes is implemented effectively and sustainably across jurisdictions.
  • Represent the country on non-financial risk matters with senior internal stakeholders, including business leadership, risk partners, Internal Audit and relevant governance forums.
  • Partner closely with country stakeholders to ensure consistency in risk standards while allowing for appropriate local market nuance and regulatory requirements.

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Extensive experience in institutional banking, with knowledge of Markets, Transaction Banking, Corporate Finance, and Coverage.
  • Expertise in non-financial risk management, governance frameworks and control environments within a large and complex financial services organisation Ability to work closely with business stakeholders and support risk-based decision-making.
  • Experience interpreting regulations and implementing changes to business processes and controls.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills across business and risk teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex risk topics clearly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and sound judgment.
  • Experience using risk reports and data to support governance and business decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with risk systems, governance tools, and control monitoring processes.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification Risk, Finance, Business, Commerce, Law, or a related field. Professional certifications in Risk, Governance, Compliance, or Finance are an advantage
