PLEADINGS SPECIALIST

Non-exempt

Hybrid Flexible (work in the office for 1 - 3 days per week, as needed, on a flexible schedule. Working hours range between 9 AM (PST) to 6 PM (PST), but would consider 8 AM (PST) to 5 PM (PST) )


Location: Los Angeles

Residency Requirements:

Washington D.C.: For all positions based in the Washington, D.C. office, residency within Washington D.C., Maryland or Virginia and within a reasonable commutable distance to the assigned office is required depending on the firms discretion and the nature of the role.

Los Angeles and San Francisco Offices: For all positions based in the Los Angeles and San Francisco offices, residency within the state of California and within a reasonable commutable distance to the assigned office is required depending on the firms discretion and the nature of the role.


Salary Range: $33.90/hour - $37.50/hour ($70,512.00 - $78,000.00 annually) *

*The salary range is the one that Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP reasonably expects to pay for this position. The salary range does not guarantee, obligate, nor set expectations of an applicant’s wage in the event of hire. Our team is seeking a Pleadings Specialist who excels at managing pleadings, supporting attorneys across matters of all sizes, and contributing to a collaborative, fast-paced legal environment.


Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Implement pleading clip management support including receiving and reviewing incoming legal documents to verify completeness and accuracy.
  • Partner with case teams and other colleagues inputting case details and information from pleadings into the iManage system.
  • Assist with development and implementation of the pleadings group, including answering questions from attorneys and staff regarding filing procedures and case status.
  • Monitor case progress through automated alerts or manual checks, including communication with case teams that tracks the progress of cases by ensuring proper case documentation.

  • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Adobe Acrobat proficiency
  • Westlaw, Lexis, Relativity, Case Notebook, RingCentral, FileSite, iTimekeep or other related billing tool


Qualifications & Skill Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent certification required.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a law firm or equivalent environment required.
  • Experience with data sources and document management including accurately recording and managing legal documents with precise information.
  • Familiarity with court case management systems and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to be available, as needed, to work extended hours, nights and weekends.
