Job overview:

Our team has an immediate opening for a California qualified attorney for its world-class infrastructure/projects practice in the Los Angeles office based in Century City. Ashurst combines the benefits of a leading infrastructure/projects practice with a supportive and collegiate environment. We are open to speaking with mid-level (3-5 years) and senior associates (5+ years).

  • Your role will include:
    • Advising on large, complex project development, procurement, bidding, and financing for infrastructure projects procured under P3 (public-private partnerships) and other alternative delivery methods. The infrastructure projects span transportation and social infrastructure sectors.
    • Advising government agencies and procuring authorities, developers, sponsors, lenders, and contractors.
    • Drafting and negotiating project agreements and ancillary transaction documentation, managing transactions from inception to close, and advising on contract management matters.
    • Staying informed on applicable local, state, and federal laws and guidance and prepare training and advice for clients on the same.
  • You will interact directly with clients and act with integrity to provide incisive advice to clients, with the support of your colleagues.
  • You will have the opportunity to take responsibility, under supervision, for challenging and innovative drafting tasks and for taking a leading role in transaction management.
  • You will mentor and supervise junior associates and summer law clerks.
  • You will demonstrate excellence in communicating with clients in order to understand their needs and how best to meet them.
  • You will contribute to the firms vision to be an exceptional place to work, by contributing to the creation of a positive work environment.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Strong mid-level (3-5 years) or senior associate (5+ years) with projects/project finance/infrastructure or construction transactional experience gained within private practice.
  • 3+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • All candidates must be licensed to practice law in California.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail with well-developed analytical skills
  • A proactive, positive and energetic approach with a commitment to providing excellent client service, and a desire to build client relationships.

Salary Banding: $260,000 - $420,000 per annum
