Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in HVAC systems, electrical controls, and renewable energy compliance to provide advanced technical support across air conditioning, solar PV, and battery storage systems. This role involves diagnosing complex faults, conducting technical investigations, reviewing system designs for compliance, supporting commissioning activities, and collaborating with engineering and operations teams to ensure reliable, compliant, and high-performing system outcomes. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, excellent technical documentation abilities, and experience working in fast-paced technical environments.
Key Responsibilities
Provide advanced technical support for complex air conditioning and HVAC-related issues
Diagnose electrical and control-related faults across split systems, ducted systems, VRF/VRV systems, and associated equipment
Support technical teams with advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Interpret technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer documentation
Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers regarding technical escalations, warranty matters, and engineering queries
Conduct failure analysis and provide corrective action recommendations
Assist in developing SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and technical knowledge base articles
Review system performance data and identify recurring technical issues or trends
Support commissioning and technical validation activities where required
Assist with compliance reviews for solar PV and battery storage installations
Review system designs against Australian Standards, DNSP requirements, and regulatory frameworks
Support technical assessment of inverter, battery, and protection systems
Assist in identifying non-compliant installations and recommending corrective actions
Participate in technical audits and compliance investigations
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of renewable energy standards and industry regulations
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams during the rollout of renewable energy initiatives
Requirements
Qualifications
Essential
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Strong understanding of electrical systems, controls, and fault diagnostics
Experience supporting HVAC or air conditioning systems in a technical capacity
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple technical issues simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and compliance mindset
