Overview:

The Senior Accounts Payable Operations Manager is responsible for providing senior-level leadership and operational oversight for Accounts Payable activities. This role leads teams to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient AP operations while maintaining service quality, process compliance, and operational performance.

The role will oversee day-to-day AP operations, drive process improvements, monitor team performance, resolve operational issues, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure business requirements and service expectations are consistently met.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide overall leadership and operational oversight for Accounts Payable activities
  • Lead, coach, and develop AP teams to achieve operational goals and service level expectations
  • Establish team priorities, monitor performance, and ensure timely completion of deliverables
  • Oversee AP processes to ensure transactions are completed accurately, efficiently, and within established timelines
  • Monitor operational performance, productivity, quality, and service levels
  • Review and address escalations, complex issues, and operational concerns affecting AP processes
  • Ensure adherence to established policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Identify operational gaps and implement appropriate corrective actions
  • Drive process improvement, automation, productivity, and efficiency initiatives
  • Monitor key performance indicators and provide operational insights and recommendations to management
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve overall service delivery
  • Maintain effective process documentation and ensure teams consistently follow established procedures
  • Support business reviews and provide updates on operational performance, risks, and improvement initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to improve team capability, engagement, and performance
  • Conduct coaching, performance management, and development activities for team members
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning activities as needed
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and ensure consistent service delivery
  • Ensure operational activities remain aligned with company policies, controls, and business requirements

What You Need To Succeed

  • At least 7 years of managerial experience – required
  • Experience in Accounts Payable – required
  • Experience working in a BPO, Shared Services, or Global Business Services (GBS) environment – preferred
  • Experience managing first-line managers or other people leaders – preferred
  • Background in Accounting or Finance – preferred
  • Strong understanding of Accounts Payable operations and processes
  • Proven experience leading and managing teams in a high-volume operational environment
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people-management skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within established service levels
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement and operational efficiency
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and other business/enterprise systems
