Facilities Engineer- Chemical Engineer

Job Description

Job Summary:

onsemi is looking for a reliable Handyman, Facilities Assistant, to undertake upkeep and repair tasks to the interior and/or exterior of company premises. We will rely on this person to keep our facilities in perfect condition by doing various odd jobs! This person must be well-organized with strong general repair skills. This position will report directly to the Manager of Facilities.

Responsibilities

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Overall Facility Cleanliness and Safety awareness.
• Perform maintenance and light repairs/painting as needed.
• Perform routine landscaping/minor upkeep on the grounds.
• Patch and Paint walls and floors, as needed (on walls, sidewalks, etc.).
• Undertake light installation or carpentry (e.g., assembly of cabinets).
• Repair equipment or appliances, and PM of cafeteria appliances/equipment.
• Assist facilities team and possible tradespeople with electrical, plumbing or HVAC repairs.
• Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks (e.g., shoveling snow).
• Troubleshoot, identify, and report the need for major repairs.
• Other duties as needed or assigned.
• Opportunities to grow with the company and assist with equipment PM activities once qualified (training provided internally).
  
  

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering
• License: Licensed Chemical Engineer
• Work Experience: Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Relevant experience in facilities, manufacturing, or semiconductor operations is an advantage.
• Other appropriate combinations of above mentioned education and directly related experiences are acceptable if the ability to perform duties and responsibilities is demonstrated.
• Skills
• Basic working knowledge on the operation, control, maintenance, and repair of pumps, electric motors, fans, blowers, electrical and power panels, air-conditioning equipment (centralized, packaged & unitary units).
• Basic knowledge and exposure on the fundamentals of semiconductor manufacturing processes plus understanding of OSHA, Safety and other regulatory standards, policies and procedures.
• Effective communication (verbal & written) skills coupled with information management abilities. General knowledge of computers such as word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Knowledgeable in EHS systems specially on safety.
• Effective analytical and problem solving skills, especially in areas of facilities operations and maintenance.
• Effective organizational, time management, as well as prioritizing skills. Has the ability to manage diverse groups of construction and maintenance personnel.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills, management skills (influence, direct, motivate, evaluate), team building techniques, and leadership abilities.
