Overview:

The Cash Application Specialist is responsible for accurately applying high-volume customer payments to accounts receivable while ensuring reliable financial records and consistent cash flow. This role supports daily reconciliations, resolves payment discrepancies, and partners with internal teams to provide timely and accurate payment information.

What You Will Do:

  • Process and apply customer payments including checks, ACH, wire transfers, and credit cards
  • Perform daily cash reconciliations and ensure alignment between bank and system records
  • Track and resolve unapplied or misapplied payments
  • Investigate discrepancies such as short payments, overpayments, and missing remittance details
  • Respond to internal inquiries related to payment status and account activity

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or transactional accounting
  • Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals, including debits and credits
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
