UCT is looking for a talented Quality Engineer I to join us in Philippines!
Job Summary
The Quality Engineer is responsible for planning and coordinating quality activities in collaboration with the Quality Manager to ensure that all components, processes, and products meet defined technical requirements. This role provides technical support to various departments to resolve process issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives. It also supports new product, process, and part launches through advanced quality planning and training. The Quality Engineer acts as a key liaison between suppliers and internal teams to address issues effectively, enhance product quality, improve productivity, and reduce costs.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Conduct quality engineering reviews of design documentation to ensure compliance with specified requirements, including vendor quality manuals and internal quality standards.
Utilize Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods to analyze performance data and identify trends.
Evaluate incoming materials and components, providing recommendations on product acceptance.
Perform First Article Inspection (FAI) activities, including preparation, review, and validation of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion and approval of FAIR documentation for new product introductions and engineering changes.
Investigate nonconformances (NC), customer complaints, and internal quality issues, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence.
Document and maintain accurate records of all quality assurance activities, including FAIR results, NC investigations, and supporting evidence.
Develop and implement corrective actions for discrepancies identified during inspections, audits, and customer feedback.
Develop and implement innovative solutions to resolve issues identified during QA processes.
Prepare and present reports summarizing quality activities, findings, and results.
Present technical data and program updates to team members and management.
Maintain working knowledge of applicable government and industry quality standards and regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Strong background in statistical analysis and SPC, with solid knowledge of quality methodologies and inspection techniques.
Experienced in implementing quality systems in manufacturing and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Effective team player with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence change.
Excellent communication, training, and organizational skills, with proven ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficient in QA systems and Microsoft Office tools
Educational/Certification Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred, or an Associate’s degree with a minimum of four (4) years of relevant quality experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Experience:
1-2 years working in machine shop, assembly clean rooms. Semi-Conductor and/or similar industry
Physical Demands And Working Conditions
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment.
Requires prolonged periods of sitting, with occasional standing during work hours.
Ability to manage frequent interruptions and shifting priorities in a fast-paced setting.
