As Mechanical Support Manager , you will [Mechanical Manager will be responsible for coordinating and managing a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring efficient and effective mechanical operations support across various and growing RE portfolios. The expertise will contribute to the successful execution of projects, optimization of processes, and the overall growth and profitability of the organization.
Provides input and technical assistance involving the design and execution of Mechanical activities for the RE plants operations and maintenance. Heads the overall Mechanical asset management through the execution of fabrication, testing, repairs, asset condition assessment and predictive analysis of all mechanical components.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations and maintenance, procurement, and project management, to ensure seamless RE plant operation, maintenance and execution and contribute directly to transforming energy for a better world. You will work closely with the Operations and Maintenance Team to deliver results, create positive community impact, and develop your skills in a supportive, purpose-driven environment.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Leads and manages annual and long term strategic mechanical objective
- Leads the development of engineering solutions and technical designs for mechanical assets
- Mechanical design and installation assessment, review, and evaluation
- Assess and approves alignment of Mechanical Engineering plans and specifications with company standards
- Leads continuous improvement efforts and projects in relation to mechanical assets - research and feasibility studies
- Manages financial, technical and operational risk management plans and mitigations in relation to mechanical assets
- Reviews and approves development of organizational guideline, procedures, and standards for mechanical asset
- Steers mechanical committee discussions and technical assistance (Grid concerns, interBU - wherever his/her expertise is needed)
- Leads and manages emergency response plans and insurance claims in term of Mechanical
- Keeps up to date with relevant regulations, codes and legislation
- Initiates job knowledge update from trainings, seminars, exposures and workshops
- Reviews, manages, and approves project and work order schedule and timeline
- Leads annual planning in coordination with O&M to ensure availability of spare turbine components, (Design and budget)
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced operational efficiency within the mechanical department.
- Oversee the fabrication and machine shop operations, ensuring timely and accurate production of mechanical components and assemblies.
- Provide technical guidance and support for hydro power plant and wind power projects, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs
- Manage tribology-related activities, including lubrication analysis, material selection, and equipment reliability improvement.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to fabrication, power generation, tribology, and maintenance.
- Develop and implement maintenance programs, schedules, and procedures to maximize equipment uptime and minimize downtime
- Monitors and Manages Key Performance Indicators of the Department
To Succeed In This Role, We Need Someone Who:
- Reviews and approves quality of all fabricated and rehabilitated items
- Coordinates with Operations and Maintenance Division the performance of mechanical components
- Overall work order and project monitoring, committee discussions, and progress reporting
- Manages billings, contracts, budget allocation and costing reports
- Reviews and approves contractor and supplier selection
- Establishes and approves contractor and supplier communication (Follow-ups on requests for information, design change requests, plans/designs, time extensions and requests, and progress schedules)
- Formulates RACI, team structure and task distribution
- Reviews and approves material specification and selection approval
- Formulates and manages timeline and milestones monitoring, assessment and evaluation
- Manages project Turnover and Records – as built, instructions, progress, QA/QC and other related reports.
- Initiates standards and set procedures implementation (Engineering, Health, Safety, Environment and Social compliance)
- Provides assistance for mechanical installation and dismantling activities
REPAIRS, TESTINGS AND ANALYSIS
- Manages asset condition monitoring through Non-destructive test execution as per schedule committed
- Reviews dimensional testing of in-house and outsourced fabricated and repaired items
- Reviews and approve quality assurance and verification of mechanical installations reports
- Reviews and approves In-house machinery and testing equipment and tools review, upgrade and calibration
- Reviews and approves mechanical assets inspection, predictive analysis and assessment.
- Reviews and approves recommended Corrective and Preventive Maintenance plans for mechanical assets as input to the Life Cycle Management Plan.
WORKFORCE MANAGEMENT AND OTHERS
- Implementation and interpretation of environmental health and safety programs.
- Evaluates and verifies employee performance.
- Conducts Internal and external quality audits and compile detailed reports of findings in line with mechanical assets
- Initiates and leads team development and competency plans and implementation (Gaps, technological and industry developments)
- Implement company policies and procedures; ensures compliance to IMS standards; promotes sound employee relations and helps in settling grievances among his team members, if any.
- Adhere to Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety and Information Security incidents or potential events or other security risks to the organization.
- Adhere to Protection of information assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference and maintains confidentiality and integrity of company information assets.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, emphasizing the importance of workplace safety and risk mitigation.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by his immediate superior.
What You Will Need:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Registered Mechanical Manager, preferably a Professional Mechanical Engineer
- 5-10 years experience in RE technologies, operations and maintenance (Hydro, Wind, Solar)
Technical / Functional Skills:
- With practical application and experience in handling wind gearbox
- With background and experience in handling vibrating, oil-rotating machines, and hydraulics
- Preferably with practical application in Metallurgy
- Experience in Asset Management and Reliability Centered Maintenance is a plus

Provides mechanical engineering analysis in the troubleshooting, equipment condition assessment and optimization of the performance and reliability of turbine, generator and associated mechanical balance of plant systems. As mechanical engineering center of excellence, the role shall provide engineering advice and solutions involving the design, maintenance strategy and optimal execution of Mechanical maintenance activities for the RE plants operations and maintenance. As necessary, the role shall lead the technical and functional specifications for the repair, replacement and/or rehabilitation of Mechanical equipment and components in accordance with approved asset life cycle management plans including the , associated installation supervision, testing and commissioning, diagnostics and analysis of all mechanical components.The Manager ensures that external vendors meet technical and safety standards, cost targets, and delivery commitments. - Extensive Experience in Renewable Energy operations and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and components maintenance in RE facilities
- Proven track record in leading and managing teams, driving performance, and achieving operational targets
- Extensive experience in the design, specification, and installation of RE mechanical components
- Advanced knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) processes for mechanical component fabrication, installation, and project completion
- Good understanding of ISO Management Systems, Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), and Lean Six Sigma methodologies
- Proficient in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and data analysis tools
- Strong experience in CAPEX and OPEX planning, budgeting, monitoring, and optimization
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and stakeholder groups
- Expertise in vendor risk management, including lead time monitoring, logistics coordination, shipping management, and external quality control
- Strong knowledge of Asset Management frameworks, including Life Cycle Management Plans (LCMP), End-of-Life Assessments, Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), and Spare Parts Management
- Experience in overseeing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities, including Penetrant Testing (PT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis, and Thermography
- Skilled in CAPEX/OPEX optimization and cost-per-part financial modeling to improve asset reliability and cost efficiency
- Experience in optimizing equipment and component designs for cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality and performance standards
- Proven ability to develop and manage multi-vendor networks, including supplier qualification, lead time management, and procurement oversight.
