Job Description

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

This role be vital in providing safety leadership mentoring, support and development for the Didipio OHS Manager and OHS leadership team, through the provision of tier-1 industry safety leadership experience and practices, with the primary intent to ensure sitewide achievement of consistent and effective implementation of the OceanaGold Safety Management Systems and initiatives.





Qualifications

  • Mentor the Health & Safety leadership and wider team to enhance their impact and effectiveness.
  • Coach and where needed facilitate incident investigation processes to ensure quality outcomes delivered in a timely manner to reduce future business risk.
  • Assist in the review of existing work procedures to identify opportunities for improving hazard controls and operational safety.
  • Coach, advise, and support the site team in implementing and auditing Health & Safety Plans and Procedures.
  • Carry out risk assessments as required and implement systems to manage identified risks.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of the volunteer emergency response team processes, capabilities and practical learning experiences.
  • Lead and coach planned safety inspections, housekeeping projects, and other safety initiatives
  • Coach the continuous improvement and delivery of training programs and processes.
