Standard Bank CIB Technology Graduate Programme

CIB Technology powers Global Markets, Transaction Banking, and Investment Banking. The intense, high-performance environment of Global Markets and Transaction Banking makes partnering with these areas particularly exciting. CIB Technology serves non-retail customers, such as banks, public institutions, corporates, and asset managers, facilitating various transaction types from algorithmic trading to complex structured products.

Our graduate programme aims to attract talent with strong technical knowledge who can become thought leaders and trusted advisors. We combine theoretical learning and practical experience, supported by rotations across the CIB Technology business lifecycle. You will learn application and technology architecture processes such as analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and also gain exposure to operations, maintenance, and support of live production environments.

We utilize various technologies to give our business a competitive edge. Common technologies include JAVA, Python, Angular, GO, C, C#, C++, Salesforce, Murex, Calypso, Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes, SQL databases (Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server, Mongo), Matlab, GIT, Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence and the suite of AWS and Microsoft enterprise tools like Power Automate and Co-pilot which are increasingly becoming more relevant as our ecosystem evolves

Upon finishing the graduate program, you will possess the requisite knowledge, skills, and experience to begin your career and potentially join CIB Technology, where you can contribute to the success of Standard Bank Group.

Post Graduate qualification (Completed or completing in 2026)

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be under 30 years of age
  • Maximum of two years’ work experience
  • Minimum of 65% average over all years of study
