Akkodis is seeking a Developer for a Contract with a client in Jersey City, NJ/Dallas, TX. The candidate has proven ability to design, optimize, and maintain DB2 stored procedures while converting COBOL/SQL logic and resolving performance bottlenecks to ensure high-performing, scalable systems.
Rate Range: $49/hour to $53/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Developer Job Responsibilities Include
- Design, develop, and maintain IBM DB2 stored procedures (SQL PL and external stored procedures) on DB2 for z/OS.
- Perform complex SQL tuning, query optimization, and in-depth performance analysis to improve system efficiency.
- Convert and refactor application logic from COBOL/SQL into DB2 stored procedures where appropriate.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve DB2 performance bottlenecks to ensure high availability and stability.
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and optimal performance of DB2 database objects and batch processes.
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams using JCL, COBOL, and distributed DB2 connectivity as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 8–10 years of hands-on experience in IBM Mainframe application development with strong DB2 for z/OS expertise.
- Proven experience designing, developing, and tuning DB2 stored procedures, with strong proficiency in SQL performance optimization.
- Solid working knowledge of COBOL, JCL, and DB2 for z/OS, including experience converting COBOL/SQL logic and resolving DB2 performance issues.

Pay Details: $49.00 to $53.00 per hour
