About The Role

The Writing Coach will partner with Gartner analysts to improve the clarity, credibility, and client value of research. This role involves 1:1 coaching, group training, and tool development to enhance writing capabilities, strengthen Gartners voice, and improve research quality through modern writing practices, including AI-assisted content creation.

What Youll Do

• Assess and address individual/group writing needs, designing tailored coaching plans.
• Deliver 1:1 coaching and group training on clarity, structure, readability, and Gartner voice.
• Provide constructive feedback and model strong writing.
• Act as an expert on writing quality for a professional business audience.
• Coach staff at all seniority levels.
• Guide authors on the effective and ethical use of AI-assisted writing tools.
• Develop and maintain writing guidelines, resources, and learning programs.
• Track coaching activity and outcomes, reporting on trends and improvement areas.
• Partner with research leaders and stakeholders to align coaching priorities.
• Manage initiatives and build trusted relationships.
  
  

What Youll Need

• 5+ years of experience in professional writing, editing, or content development; coaching experience preferred.
• Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field (Masters preferred).
• Experience with business, research, or executive-level content is highly desirable.
• Expert command of written and spoken English.
• Demonstrated ability to coach writing and drive behavior change.
• Proven ability to design and deliver engaging training.
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and modern coaching approaches.
• Comfort assessing and coaching AI and emerging writing tools.
• Project and stakeholder management experience.
• Strong digital fluency (MS Office, Google Docs, collaboration tools).

Compensation & Benefits

• Estimated base salary range: $72,000 - $100,000 USD.
