Role Summary
Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is continuing to support new product launches and manufacturing capabilities. Doing so in a scalable and well planned manner is critical to our future, customers success, and in building products for the future of the automotive industry. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support the Volkswagen Group (VWG) brands vehicle software release. This role would be creating automated testing that ensures high quality releases to multiple vehicle brands. Success in this role would mean launch of new vehicles, and efficiency improvements that impact the full organization.
Responsibilities
- Drive end to end regression testing of vehicle software bring up; taking on integration, testing, issue escalation, resolution, and complete software testing and trials.
- Support the brand release lead in ensuring quality for vehicle software releases.
- Design and maintain a regression test suite and test cases to ensure quality software release.
- Develop tools, standards, and test procedures to thoroughly test vehicle software and integration with factory systems, and work with development and existing test teams to commonize tooling.
- Working with stakeholders in vehicle and factory software teams to arbitrate discussion, development, and issue resolution.
- Defining and driving development of new Software and Hardware in-loop test cases.
- Drive important metrics for vehicle software test coverage and issue reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science/Engineering
- 3+ years of experience working on complex, cross-functional, distributed software systems.
- Experience in integration or testing, specifically writing test cases, unit testing, and integration/system testing (SIL/HIL).
- Experience with the software release and build processes and tooling (Agile, git/svn, gitlab, jenkins, groovy).
- Experience working with test tools and software such as NI TestStand. LabView, Test Automation Software, PyTest, GoogleTest, Pickering, GoTest, etc.
- Experience developing for embedded systems in C/C++/Rust/Golang/Python/Qt.
- Experience with networked embedded systems (CAN, Ethernet, LIN, DOIP, ISOTP).
- Experience developing or integrating network attached systems (Telematics, Linux, TCP/IP, HTTP).
- Strong development and test skills.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
- Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working with manufacturing teams or in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in configuration management on a complex electromechanical product (Agricultural, Automotive, Aerospace, Defense, Manufacturing).
- Experience with systems engineering and common systems analysis practices.
- Experience with data reporting tools (Hex, SQL, Databricks, Snowflake, R).
- Experience with networking tools (Putty, Vector tools, SSH/SCP, Git, Wireshark).
- Experience with messaging strategies (MQTT, NATS, UDP/TCP, API design).
- Experience with remotely connected systems (SSH, SCP, RDP, IPv4/6).
- Preference for developers with experience in C/C++, Golang, Python, or Bash.
Pay Disclosure
Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $135,100 - $168,900 USD.
The posted salary represents the lowest and highest ranges RV Tech reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position. Any posted salary range pertains only to the estimated starting pay for the role. Actual starting pay is based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, skillset, qualifications, specific competencies, relevant education, and location.
Total Rewards
Total compensation packages for this position include base salary, eligibility for an annual performance bonus, and eligibility for equity.
