Data Engineer I

This entry-level position performs basic data engineering assignments within a specific engineering functional area or product line.

Accountabilities

• Write Python scripts that automate data collection from target sites, adhering to established data output models.
• Utilize established functions and strategies for web scraping as documented.
• Monitor long-running scripts and debug based on error messages.
• Escalate ticket obstacles to more senior engineers, implementing feedback from code reviews.
• For each ticket assigned, clearly describe progress and obstacles, and log time spent.
• Operate in various development environments while collaborating with key stakeholders.
• Attend regular meetings, ready to describe progress and encountered obstacles.
• Innovate new solutions to new obstacles.
• Resolve basic technical issues as necessary.
• Keep abreast of new technology developments.

• Bachelors degree holder
• Minimum of 1 year experience in Python with technical competencies demonstrated
• Version control system (Git) skills.
• Ability to assist with process improvement and compliance.
• Knowledge of Python, preferably for web scraping.
• Familiarity with Command-Line Interface and UNIX commands.
• Debugging skills.
• Familiarity with IDEs, PyCharm preferred.
• Ability and desire to learn new processes and technologies.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply enterprise AI tools and technologies to support technical workflows and business objectives
