Cargo Handling Equipment Operator

As a Cargo handling Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for the efficient planned movement of containers compliant with safety, quality, time and cost guidelines.

What You’ll Do (your Mission)

• Upon reporting for work:
• Attend tool box meeting, to know expected outgoing and incoming cargo. Any cargo requiring special handling, port time of vessel/s for the day, cargo stowing plan.Receive Container Movement plan from Operations Supervisor as a guide for container movements from lift to stage.
• Ask CY leader for unit assignment.
• Perform actual inspection of the assigned unit using the Equipment and safety Inspection Checklist.
• Strictly and consistently comply with safety 2p's for operations and in equipment handling.
• Immediately report any noticed unusual behavior/response of unit in use and stop use to avoid any complications that can lead to further damage and delay.
• Stop operations, when risk is present in the area of operation and coordinate for it to be addressed.
• Report to Operations Supervisor any encountered problems in the Movement Plan or completion status of assigned movement.
• Clean unit after end of shift.
• Regularly attends department and Safety meetings.

• HS or College Level
  
  

Professional Experience

• 3-4 yrs experience in handling the same CHE.
