Job Description
The position of AVP, ESG will play a critical role in driving and implementing the Group’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) approach as well as related disclosure. This individual will be responsible for leading key ESG initiatives and effectively communicating our ESG performance to internal and external stakeholders. The AVP will also be responsible for managing and mentoring a small team under Group Communications Division, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Your new role
Strategy & Implementation
Drive and executive the Group’s overall ESG strategy and approach, aligning it with business goals and industry best practices.
Lead and manage the implementation of specific ESG initiatives, including but not limited to environmental enhancement measures, community engagement, supply chain sustainability, etc.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of ESG initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and proactively recommending adjustments
Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of ESG data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant reporting frameworks (e.g. HKEXs ESG Code, GRI Standards).
Develop and maintain robust data management systems and processes
Stay abreast of emerging ESG trends, regulations, and best practices, and proactively identify opportunities for innovation and improvement
Develop responses to inquiries from stakeholders regarding ESG matters.
Prepare presentations and materials related to ESG performance
Work closely with internal stakeholders on identifying and assessing ESG-related risks and opportunities as well as address ESG-related issues
Ensure compliance with relevant ESG regulations and standards
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, mentor and coach a small team to foster a collaborative and high-performing work culture
Provide guidance and support to team members, helping them to achieve their individual and team goals
To succeed this role
Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, Public Policy).
At least 12 years of progressive experience in ESG / sustainability with consulting background and listed companies is highly preferred
Proven experience in driving and implementing ESG programmes and managing the development of ESG reports and ESG rating submissions
Demonstrated experience in effective communication and engagement with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including investors, NGOs, the public, etc.
Experience in preparing and presenting ESG reports and disclosures.
Strong understanding of ESG trends, regulations, and best practices and familiar with ESG reporting frameworks and sustainability standards (e.g. HKEXs ESG Code, GRI Standards, TCFD Framework, ISSB Standards, CSRD, and etc.)
Relevant professional certifications/qualifications in ESG
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
Effective team management skills in motivating and coaching junior team members.
Excellent problem-solving skills and being resourceful, with the ability to identify and analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions
Strong in data analysis, trend identification and attention to detail
Effective project management skills, being able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
