Reporting to the Building Services Manager- Sutherland you will lead detailed Hydraulic & Fire building services design and documentation on a diverse range of projects.

As the Associate Hydraulic & Fire Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Attending client and stakeholder design meetings;
  • Managing key projects and coordinating both Hydraulic and MEP design delivery;
  • Leading tenders and proposals;
  • Obtaining and preparing detailed project plans, including budgets, time forecasts and resource planning;
  • Building key client relationships; and
  • Growing and developing a Hydraulic & Fire design team.

Your Experience Will Include

  • A relevant qualification with a Hydraulic Diploma;
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience working within the Building Services industry, ideally within a consultancy;
  • Experience with hot and cold water, sewer and gas design;
  • Solid experience with wet fire systems: hydrants, hose reels and sprinkler system design;
  • Must be FPAS Accredited in fire sprinkler systems and fire hydrant and hose reel systems;
  • Strong understanding of relevant Australian Standards and National Construction Code;
  • Experience in managing multidisciplinary project teams;
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate information of a complex nature both verbally and in writing with all stakeholders across disciplines, including colleagues and clients; and
  • A personable work approach and the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.

We enjoy monthly Accrued Days Off (ADOs), and as voted by the JN Team, we work in the office Monday, Thursday and Friday with flexibility to work from home on Tuesday and Wednesday.
