Position Title: Student Recruitment Officer

Status: Support Project of Non-Recurring Kind (August 10, 2026 to December 4, 2026)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Program/Department: University of Guelph-Humber

Campus/Location: The University of Guelph-Humber (207 Humber College Blvd, Toronto) is located within the traditional and treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit.

Salary: Min. $21.01 - Max. $32.32

About The Student Recruitment Officer Role

The Student Recruitment Officer interacts with prospective students, applicants and their supporters throughout the recruitment and admission process to provide timely, accurate and engaging information through multiple platforms. The Student Recruitment Officer is an ambassador, representing the University positively at in-person and virtual events, fairs, information sessions, webinars, on social media channels, etc. and communicating information about the University’s academic programs, student services, scholarships, and admission policies in a professional, effective and compelling way.

The Student Recruitment Officer significantly contributes to the shaping of the public image of the University and on the prospective student’s postsecondary decision-making process. This role is a strategic component of the University of Guelph-Humber’s overall enrolment strategy and in achieving revenue targets by generating a strong applicant pool of qualified students in an increasingly competitive postsecondary environment.

Please note: The travel component of this position requires the successful incumbent to hold a valid Ontario ‘G’ level driver’s license, have access to a personal credit card (all travel expenses are reimbursed), and be available to travel* away from home for several periods at a time. In addition, this position requires non-traditional work hours, including evenings and select weekends.

Employment is conditional upon the successful completion of a current criminal record check/vulnerable sector check.

Qualifications

Education

  • The successful candidate will have a minimum of a 4-year undergraduate degree, preference is given to University of Guelph-Humber alumni

Experience And Skills

The successful candidate will have a minimum one-year related experience in the post-secondary environment (student recruitment, admissions, registrarial/student services, public relations, or marketing). Additionally, the candidate will also have:

  • A minimum one-year related experience in the postsecondary environment (student recruitment, admissions, registrarial/student services, public relations, or marketing).
  • Outstanding public presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of diversity in secondary school environment
  • Professional judgment, tact and diploma
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong time management, organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Ability to portray a positive and professional image
  • Customer service focused
  • Demonstrated energy, and enthusiasm for meeting new people and travelling
