Java Software Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Java Software Engineer for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI (Hybrid). This role involves designing end‑to‑end software architecture, developing and optimizing applications, and collaborating cross‑functionally to ensure high‑quality, secure, and performance‑driven software delivery.

Rate Range: $70/hour to $82/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Java Software Engineer Job Responsibilities Include

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable full‑stack software applications across the entire software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with customers and cross‑functional teams to understand requirements and translate business needs into user‑centric technical solutions.
• Define and implement robust software architecture, technology stacks, integration methods, and deployment strategies.
• Develop intuitive user interfaces, back‑end services, APIs, and microservices while ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Establish and follow best practices for testing, CI/CD, security, and code quality, including TDD and secure data handling.
• Continuously optimize application performance and evaluate emerging technologies to improve development efficiency and solution capabilities.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline; master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of IT experience with at least 8 years in hands‑on software development roles.
• Practical expertise in at least two programming languages (or advanced expertise in one), with strong full‑stack development experience and proficiency in cloud platforms, preferably GCP.
• Proven experience leading complex software solutions across the SDLC, including architecture design, CI/CD practices, security standards, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

Pay Details: $69.00 to $82.00 per hour
