Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to join our dynamic HR team. The ideal candidate will support the Payroll Manager in handling payroll tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations. This position requires someone who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating a keen eye for detail and strong organizational abilities. As a Payroll Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining payroll records, processing transactions, and resolving any payroll-related queries. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll for all staff.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of payroll data to the payroll system.
  • Maintain payroll records by entering and updating employee information.
  • Resolve discrepancies and answer payroll-related inquiries from employees.
  • Verify and reconcile payroll reports to detect and correct errors.
  • Prepare and distribute employee salary statements and reports as needed.
  • Support HR teams in audits by providing payroll-related data and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations regarding payroll.
  • Assist in the calculation and distribution of tax withholdings and benefits.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve and simplify payroll processes.
  • Manage timekeeping systems and resolve related issues as they arise.
  • Assist in the setup and management of employee direct deposit accounts.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and relevant legal regulations.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy and compliance.
  • Good communication skills and ability to resolve payroll queries professionally.
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
