Job Description

You’ll play a crucial role in streamlining administrative operations for a busy dental practice, handling essential insurance and payment processes that directly impact patient care and office efficiency. This is an opportunity to work with a quality-focused practice that wants to build long-term partnerships with its virtual team members. You’ll be fully integrated into their systems and operations, with potential to help onboard additional team members as they expand their virtual assistant program.


Job Highlights:

  • Hourly Rate: USD 4.85, the equivalent in your local currency
  • Paid Hours per Week: 40
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7 am to 4 pm with an hour of unpaid break
  • Client Timezone: Central Time (Houston)
  • Work Arrangement: Work from home
  • Contract: Independent Contractor

Side note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.


Responsibilities:

Manage end-to-end revenue cycle tasks including:

  • Timely and accurate submission of insurance claims with proper dental coding (e.g., CDT codes)
  • Posting of payments and reconciliation of EOBs.
  • Age tracking and follow-up on insurance and patient accounts receivable
  • Denial and appeals management, including re-submission and documentation
  • Reviewing claims for accuracy, necessary attachments (e.g., X-rays, narratives), and proper documentation
  • Coordinating with insurance payers to resolve underpayments or disputes
  • Leading training efforts for front office staff on coding, claim submission, insurance verification, and denial tracking


Requirements:

  • Experience with dental insurance processes and procedures (essential due to industry-specific nuances)
  • Strong understanding of dental insurance complexities and how they differ from medical insurance
  • HIPAA compliance experience and training
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience working with US-based healthcare or dental practices
  • Reliable internet connection and professional work environment
  • Bonus if you have experience with dental practice management software
  • It helps if you have previous experience in a customer service or administrative role.
