Medical Billing Specialist

About the Job:

The Medical Billing Specialist will support daily operations by managing billing processes, claim submissions, payment posting, and account follow-ups for services. In this role, you will work closely with insurance providers, patients, and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely billing while resolving claim and payment issues efficiently. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, professionalism, and the ability to handle sensitive healthcare and financial information in a fast-paced environment.

What Youll Do:

• Prepare, review, and submit medical claims accurately and in a timely manner to insurance providers
• Verify billing information, insurance details, and patient records to ensure claim accuracy
• Follow up on unpaid, denied, or rejected claims and work toward timely resolution
• Post payments, adjustments, and account updates accurately within billing systems
• Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers regarding billing concerns and claim status
• Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and remittance advice to identify discrepancies or required actions
• Maintain accurate documentation of billing activities, claim updates, and account notes
• Assist patients with billing inquiries, payment concerns, and account-related questions professionally and empathetically
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and applicable healthcare billing regulations and data privacy standards
• Meet productivity, quality, and turnaround expectations in a fast-paced healthcare support environment

What Youll Bring:

• At least 1 year of experience in Medical Billing, Claims Processing, or a related healthcare support role
• Experience handling insurance claims, payment posting, denial management, or accounts receivable is highly preferred
• Strong understanding of medical billing processes, insurance verification, and claim workflows
• Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes is a plus
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently under deadlines
• Proficiency in using billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and basic computer applications
• High level of professionalism when handling sensitive patient and financial information
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced BPO or healthcare support environment
