The R&D Officer – Production is responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and controlling production operations within the assigned area. This role ensures that production targets are met in terms of volume, quality, and timeliness while maintaining compliance with food safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and sanitation requirements.
The position also supports continuous improvement initiatives and ensures consistent delivery of products that meet established quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Operations
Develop and implement production plans based on forecasts and actual requirements
Prepare weekly and daily production schedules
Ensure availability of materials and buffer stocks
Oversee manpower scheduling and task assignments
Monitor production efficiency and output performance
Ensure proper maintenance and sanitation of equipment
Process & Product Improvement
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and output
Recommend new equipment, processes, and operational improvements
Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Coordinate with QA, Purchasing, and other units for process enhancements
Quality Management & Food Safety
Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, FSSC, and regulatory standards
Maintain accurate and timely reporting
Support continuous improvement of quality management systems
Stay updated on food safety regulations and industry standards
Workplace & Product Standards Compliance
Ensure adherence to sanitation, hygiene, and safety standards
Maintain high-quality standards for finished products
Support implementation of 5S and workplace safety programs
Documentation & Process Management
Ensure completeness and accuracy of manufacturing documents
Maintain updated internal policies and procedures
People Development
Lead and develop team members through coaching and training
Implement development plans and performance management programs
Identify and develop high-potential talents
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, or related field
At least 5 years of experience in Food Manufacturing, R&D, or Quality Assurance
Strong background in GMP, HACCP, FSSC, ISO, GWP, QMS and SAP
Experience in Statistical Process Control (SPC) is an advantage
Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance standards
Willing to work on a shifting schedule
Willing to be assigned in Guinsay, Danao City, Cebu
