This is a full-time, grant-funded position for 12 months. Hiring of this position is subject to the award of the grant.

About This Role

In close liaison with the Project Officer-Education for ECD, the Senior Community Mobilizer will be responsible for engaging and mobilizing communities to participate in expanding the reach for Alternative Learning System delivery in his/her area of assignment (i.e., Basilan, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao del Norte, and Maguindanao del Sur) through the Project “Supporting peacebuilding through strengthening essential health and nutrition, WASH and education services for vulnerable children and adolescents in Maguindanao and Cotabato City, BARMM” .

This role involves conducting community meetings, and collaborating with the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), provincial/municipal/barangay officials, parents and primary caregivers of young children, and community leaders to socialize importance of Early Childhood Development (ECD), particularly creating Local ECCD Coordinating Committees that will promote expanded ECD service coverage.

S/He will establish and maintain partnerships with key government agencies, community leaders, Child Development Workers, and other key stakeholders in the community.

Required Experience And Education

  • High school diploma or technical training relevant to the job , advantage if related to Education, Social Work, Community Development, Sociology or equivalent relevant experience in community organizing
  • Familiarity with local dialects and cultural practices.
  • Willingness to travel and work in remote areas.

Primary Roles And Responsibilities

  • Mobilize communities to participate in mapping and maintaining database of children aged 3-5 years old, particularly their participation to ECD services
  • Mobilize and organize parents and potential parent volunteers to increase ECD coverage in the target areas
  • Coordinate with Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), provincial/municipal/barangay officials, parents and primary caregivers of young children, and community leaders to socialize importance of Early Childhood Development (ECD), particularly creating Local ECCD Coordinating Committees that will promote expanded ECD service coverage, while coordinating closely with the Team’s Project Strategy
  • Serve as the primary resource/focal person in his/her assigned area relative to ECD
  • Collect and report data on community engagement and participation.
