Job Description:

The Transformation Lead – Record is responsible for designing and implementing standardized Record-to-Report processes across Xerox and Lexmark. The role ensures that accounting policy is translated into executable, system-enforced processes that remove manual effort, reduce risk, and eliminate local interpretation.

This role owns the future-state design of Record-to-Report execution but does not run the close or manage operational teams. Success is defined by the removal of manual journals, non-standard reconciliations, and local close practices, not by documentation or advisory output.

The Transformation Lead – Record works in close partnership with Global Tower Managers and Accounting, with joint accountability for adoption and sustained execution of agreed standards.

Key Activities:

  • Own the global Record-to-Report process standards covering journals, reconciliations, and close activities.
  • Lead the optimization of Black Line as the primary execution and control platform for R2R.
  • Translate accounting policy requirements into standard process designs and system configurations.
  • Identify and eliminate manual and non-standard journals and reconciliations.
  • Define what activities and practices must cease as part of standardization.
  • Run the Record-side triage and escalation model to identify systemic issues requiring structural fixes.
  • Coordinate the work of Record Transformation Analysts and ensure delivery of agreed benefits.
  • Partner with Accounting to surface policy gaps or ambiguity that prevent standard execution.

KPIs:

  • Reduction in manual journals and non-standard reconciliations.
  • Percentage of Record-to-Report processes executed using global standards.
  • Black Line adoption rate versus designed usage.
  • Reduction in close effort and complexity across entities.
  • Reduction in recurring Record-side issues and escalations.
  • Delivery of transformation benefits in line with agreed targets.

Desired Skill Set and Experience:

  • Strong technical accounting and Record-to-Report expertise.
  • Hands-on experience with Black Line or similar reconciliation and control platforms.
  • Experience designing and implementing standard processes across multiple entities or regions.
  • Ability to balance policy intent with operational practicality without compromising standards.
  • Strong stakeholder management and change leadership capability.

Interaction with R2R Operations Teams:

  • Works directly with Global Tower Managers to design standards that are executable at scale.
  • Supports operational teams during transition and adoption but does not take ownership of delivery.
  • Escalates resistance to standardization where it undermines agreed outcomes.
