Social Media & Digital Marketing Specialist

Location: Fully remote (open globally; candidates near U.S. Eastern Time preferred for collaboration).

Were seeking a Social Media & Digital Marketing Specialist to help amplify our projects, strengthen our community partnerships, and bring our brand to life across digital platforms.

Were a small, high-performing design-build firm delivering 10-13 major residential remodels a year across Metro Detroits west side. From whole-home renovations to beautiful kitchens and primary suites, we pair craftsmanship with communication and we want our online voice to reflect that same integrity and care.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management

  • Build and maintain a 4-6 week content calendar aligned with campaigns and project milestones.
  • Draft and design engaging visual and written content (posts, stories, reels) using tools like Canva, ChatGPT, CapCut and others.
  • Schedule and publish content through Later, Planoly, or Meta Business Suite, optimizing timing and engagement.
  • Engage daily with potential collaborators to build visibility and brand relationships.
  • Research hashtags and tagging strategies to maximize post reach and SEO, SMM and SEM.

Blog & Website Content

  • Brainstorm and write two blog posts per month (800-1200 words) tied to projects, trends, or FAQs.
  • Upload and maintain recent projects in the website portfolio, ensuring visual and SEO consistency. Keep project spotlights current and fresh.
  • Add metadata, alt text, and internal links to improve site ranking and discoverability.

Video & Reels Production

  • Curate short-form video content (jobsite clips, behind-the-scenes, testimonials) from supplied video and photos.
  • Edit and caption videos with on-brand visuals, intros/outros, and sound.
  • Manage Facebook, YouTube and Instagram Reels strategy to grow followers and watch time.

Analytics & Reporting Dashboards

  • Create and maintain a digital performance dashboard (Office 365 or Canva) to track key metrics weekly.
  • Monitor engagement, reach, website traffic, and campaign performance using Google Analytics and platform insights.
  • Report monthly on whats working, whats not, and where to optimize.

Partnership & Community Growth

  • Engage 2-3x weekly with architects, designers, and vendors on social channels to strengthen partnerships.
  • Develop collaborative content with partners (shared posts, blog features, tagged stories).
  • Encourage brand mentions and reposts from clients and vendors to expand reach organically.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience managing digital marketing or social media, ideally in design, architecture, or construction-related fields.
  • Proficient with tools like Canva, ChatGPT, Later/Planoly, Google Analytics, and CapCut.
  • Strong written and visual communication skills with attention to tone and brand consistency.
  • Basic understanding of architecture or design terminology is a plus.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and proactive communicator in a remote environment.
  • Reliable internet and ability to collaborate during U.S. Eastern Time working hours.

Pay, Schedule & Benefits

  • Hourly pay: $6-$10 USD/hour, depending on experience.
  • Contractor position (1099); responsible for own taxes and benefits.
  • Flexible remote schedule with regular check-ins during U.S. hours.
