OSP Technician

Job Description:

• Create detailed technical drawings, route maps, and design packages for OSP telecommunications infrastructure including fiber optic cable routes, conduit systems, pole placements, and splice schematics
• Translate field notes, sketches, and survey data into accurate CAD and GIS deliverables using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and ArcGIS platforms
• Draft permit drawings, traffic control plans, base maps, and as-built documentation for submission to municipalities, state DOTs, and other permitting authorities
• Develop splice schematics, fiber assignment diagrams, and conduit/cable design drawings for aerial, buried, and underground OSP environments
• Update and maintain plant maps, GIS databases, and engineering records to reflect current network conditions and post-construction changes
• Coordinate with OSP Engineers and Project managers to ensure drawings accurately reflect design intent and support constructability in the field
• Support permitting efforts by preparing ROW, encroachment, railroad, and traffic control plan packages per jurisdiction requirements
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company and client standards prior to QC submission

Qualifications:

• Must have at least 1-2 years of experience in OSP drafting and as a technician.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is required.
• Must have an associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Must have strong attention to detail; able to work in a fast-paced environment
