Role
To manage the preparation and execution of customs clearance declarations being created by the customs brokers on behalf of internal stakeholders within the Kuehne + Nagel network and ensure that the declarations are both compliant and accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures agreed, and also adhering to all government regulatory requirements.
Your Responsibilities
Manage the preparation and execution of import and export declarations according to customs regulations, laws, and procedures within the stakeholder country
Organize and delegate the workflow and tasks to the team in alignment with the departmental and stakeholder requirements and goals
Manage and review reports to track team and departmental performance
Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and concerns
Communicates regularly with stakeholder as to productivity and quality performance and resolves challenges efficiently and effectively
Ability and willingness to take ownership for resolution of enquiries and complaints from stakeholder
Performs daily quality checks to ensure high level of work quality and productivity
Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support career development
Assists in the training of new hires and ad-hoc system or customs topics where needed
Understands new tasks and functions that are introduced and ensures instructions are understood by the team
Engages in the daily stand up/stand down meetings with the team
Develops and implements new systems and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness in conjunction with support functions for continuous improvement
Proactively pursue self-development by participating in available training programs and learning opportunities
Your Skills And Experiences
Essential:
Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration
Managerial Experience
Fluent in Spanish and English- both written and oral
Customer Focus
Strong Organizational skills
Driving continuous improvement
Ability to work with demanding deadlines
Excellent communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)s
Desirable:
At least 3 years experience in a similar position in the past
Preferable to have operational knowledge of either airfreight, sea freight or road freight
People management
Competent Communicator
Effective problem solving skills
Ability to manage complex tasks
