Job Description

The Senior Manager for Sales & Business Development is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and leading the company's commercial strategy for the swine trading business. This role oversees sales operations, business development initiatives, pricing management, and key customer relationships to ensure sustainable profitability and market competitiveness. The position works closely with cross-functional teams to align sales objectives with operational capabilities and support long-term business growth.

Responsibilities

Sales Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for the swine trading business, ensuring alignment with production capacity and market demand.
  • Establish sales objectives, profitability targets, and customer portfolio goals, while monitoring overall business performance.
  • Prepare demand forecasts and collaborate closely with operations and supply planning teams to ensure efficient product allocation.

Business Development

  • Identify and pursue opportunities to grow the customer base, including swine buyers, traders, breeders, and other industry stakeholders.
  • Explore new market segments, strategic partnerships, and business-to-business opportunities to drive revenue growth.
  • Monitor industry trends, market movements, competitor activities, and emerging business opportunities.

Pricing and Profitability Management

  • Develop and implement pricing strategies that support both revenue growth and profit margins.
  • Track market conditions and pricing fluctuations to make timely pricing adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with pricing policies, discount controls, and credit management guidelines.

Sales Operations and Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate the performance of the sales team to achieve business objectives.
  • Oversee sales operations, ensuring efficient order processing, customer support, and issue resolution.
  • Establish and maintain standardized sales reports, key performance indicators (KPIs), and account performance tracking.

Client and Account Management

  • Build and strengthen relationships with key customers, including traders, institutional clients, and retail partners.
  • Represent the company in industry events, trade associations, business meetings, and contract negotiations.
  • Manage long-term customer agreements and ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Operations, Production, and Supply Chain teams to align sales commitments with available supply.
  • Coordinate with Finance on collections, credit management, and profitability analysis.
  • Provide market insights and business intelligence to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Agribusiness, Animal Science, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in agribusiness sales, preferably within the livestock, poultry, or animal feed industry.
  • Proven track record in managing sales teams and handling B2B customer relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of livestock trading, pricing strategies, market dynamics, and supply chain operations.
  • Excellent negotiation, financial management, and margin optimization skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, relationship-building, and business development capabilities.
