Hi! Were Smartsourcing, and were looking for a full-time, onsite Assistant Bookkeeper to support our clients finance team. In this role, youll handle both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable—keeping billing, collections, payments, and reconciliations accurate, timely, and well-organised across systems.

About The Role

As a Bookkeeper, youll manage day-to-day Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, ensuring accurate records, smooth cash flow, and timely processing across systems. Youll work with internal teams, clients, and suppliers to keep billing, collections, and payments efficient.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily bank and credit card reconciliations, including NAB and Westpac accounts
  • Generate and send customer invoices (fortnightly/monthly) and follow up unpaid balances in Xero
  • Reconcile digital payments and process refunds (e.g., Stripe)
  • Verify and process supplier invoices, review statements, and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare weekly batch payments in Xero and maintain supplier records
  • Support finance settlements, asset transactions, and claims-related processing
  • Coordinate with third-party debt collectors and internal teams as needed

About You Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field
  • Experience in bookkeeping, AR, and AP roles
  • Strong Xero and Excel skills
  • Hands-on experience with bank and credit card reconciliations (NAB and Westpac)
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Able to work independently and handle confidential information
  • Experience with Stripe, Eclipse, or Asset Accountant is a plus
