InspireX is looking for an AI Engineer with a strong .NET and Python background to help build a secure, production-grade Agent Platform for one of our legal tech clients. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who can combine strong backend fundamentals with practical experience building AI systems that are safe, observable, and reliable in the real world.

You will not be building one-off demos or chatbot prototypes. You will help create the shared platform, patterns, guardrails, and operational standards that make agent development repeatable and trustworthy at scale.

This role is part of our dedicated InspireX team supporting one such client as they modernise legal services through technology.

Your Role

This role is best suited to a strong software engineer who has moved beyond experimenting with LLMs and has real interest in production AI systems. You will work closely with stakeholders to translate legal workflows into multi-step agentic systems that can use tools, manage context, integrate with internal services, and fail safely.

You will help define how agents are built, deployed, monitored, and governed in a regulated environment where auditability and reliability matter just as much as innovation.

What Success Looks Like

In This Role, You Will Help

• Build the foundations of an AI Agent Platform on Azure that supports consistent, secure agent delivery
• Reduce manual effort in legal workflows through well-scoped, tool-using AI agents
• Establish clear operational standards for logging, tracing, metrics, and alerting
• Introduce safe-by-design patterns such as approval steps, environment separation, and robust error handling
• Improve delivery confidence through reusable platform components, evaluation patterns, and strong engineering practices
  
  

What You Bring

Core Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience building production-grade backend systems
• Strong experience with ASP.NET Core and .NET (C#) for APIs, integrations, and service-based architectures
• Practical Python experience for AI services, experimentation, or supporting platform components
• Hands-on experience with at least one agentic AI framework such as Microsoft Agent SDK, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, or a comparable orchestration framework
• Experience designing or building multi-step AI workflows that use tools, state, and structured execution patterns
• Practical experience with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, or related Azure-based AI services
• A strong production mindset with attention to reliability, observability, security, and controlled rollout
• Confidence working through ambiguity and turning stakeholder problems into clear technical delivery plans
  
  

Nice to Have

• Experience building shared platform capabilities, templates, or reusable engineering patterns for other developers
• Experience working in regulated environments such as legal, finance, healthcare, or similar compliance-heavy domains
• Experience with evaluation, testing, and quality measurement for LLM-based systems
• Familiarity with human-in-the-loop workflows, approval gates, and audit trail requirements
• Familiarity with Angular for front-end development.
  
  

What Youll Do

• Build the agent platform: Create the shared foundations, deployment patterns, and engineering standards needed to support repeatable agent development on Azure.
• Develop production-ready agents: Design and implement tool-using agents that can execute multi-step workflows, call internal APIs, manage context, and operate within clear autonomy boundaries.
• Implement observability: Establish logging, tracing, metrics, and alerting so agent behaviour is transparent, measurable, and auditable.
• Integrate with core systems: Connect agents to internal services through secure APIs with a strong focus on idempotency, resilience, and data integrity.
• Define governance and guardrails: Help shape approval flows, environment controls, and safe operating practices suitable for a regulated legal services context.
• Improve performance over time: Use production feedback to improve prompts, tool-calling reliability, workflow design, and platform patterns.
