Role Title: Foods Sourcing Unit HR Business Partner

Location: General Trias, Cavite

As the Foods Plant Sourcing Unit HR Business Partner, you have responsibility for all aspects of the factory people agenda, in line with the Unilever Manufacturing System (UMS) People Development Pillar. By effectively partnering with the factory team, you will be using your understanding of the role of the factory in supporting the business to diagnose talent, organization, culture, and capability needs to improve factory performance. You will also play a key role in maintaining positive employee relations, and ensuring that HR policies & processes, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), are executed and implemented effectively.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE?

Strategic Business Partnering

  • Understand the broader market context and the role of the factory in supporting the business and use this insight to improve factory performance in the areas of Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost through the people agenda.
  • Partner with the Sourcing Unit Director and Sourcing Unit Managers and engage with the Site Leadership Team on overall people strategy.

Talent & Organization

  • Understand organization diagnostic tools (size of the organization, cost, productivity, and other metrics) and use them to define the organization blueprint and implement a range of interventions and change acceleration programs to enable the Factory Master Plan.
  • Coaches and advises business leaders in the optimisation of organisation and team design techniques to improve performance.
  • Assess the talent needs of the organization to design and deliver the most effective talent solutions. Effectively partner with managers and influence them to make the right choices regarding talent.
  • Engage and communicate with all employees the vision for effective teams and effective change management.
  • Builds managers’ capability in performance management and rewards decisions.
  • Manage direct and indirect labour cost and partner with leadership team to define solutions to optimize the organization.
  • Ensure proper change management is implemented during organizational changes and transformations.
  • Calculate factory absenteeism levels and implement interventions to drive its reduction.

Capability

  • Works at both the organizational and individual level to assess learning and development building needs for different categories of employees, that will translate into results for the factory.
  • Implement a skills gap analysis and define the factory training and development plans and activities, working together with other UMS pillars of the organization – Safety (SAF), Quality (QA), Preventive Maintenance (PM), Autonomous Maintenance (AM), and Focused Improvement (FI).
  • Ensure mandatory Safety, Quality, Business Integrity, and License to Operate (LTO) trainings are implemented and complied with.
  • Support the factory through projects that address human error reduction.

Culture

  • Partner with the leadership team to define the vision and values of the organization.
  • Implement culture activities and initiatives aligned to the site’s overall vision and values.

Employee Relations / Industrial Relations

  • Leads the delivery of, and the compliance with, Unilever HR policies, processes and local employment/labour legislation for all employees e.g. Global Working Hours Policy.
  • Develops an effective ER strategy & delivers it through coaching managers, ensuring a strong understanding of employment law and risk mitigation.
  • Works closely and collaboratively with HRBP, Employee Experience and HR Expertise teams to share best practice.

Experiences The Ideal Candidate Would Have

  • University graduate
  • Relevant experience in HR systems and processes
  • Good knowledge of key HR processes, roles and responsibilities across the entire employee lifecycle
  • Relevant experience in ER/IR systems and process in a complex environment

Candidate Will Be Working With

  • This role reports to Allan Mariazeta, Industrial and Employee Relations Lead HR Business Partner.
  • The incumbent in the role will work very closely with the Sourcing Unit Director – Foods (Arvind Sunderrajan), the Foods SU Leadership Team, and 1Cavite HR Team.
  • The incumbent will also collaborate regularly with all roles in the HR operating framework: e.g. People Partners, Talent Partners
